Associate Professor John Karanicolas named Wohlgemuth Scholar

Associate Professor John Karanicolas has been named the Edward and Thelma Wohlgemuth Faculty Scholar for early career accomplishments as faculty and great potential for future scholarly contributions. Dr. Karanicolas’ research involves using computational and experimental design to modulate protein function with small molecules. He is interested in development of novel inhibitors of proteins that have well-validated roles in cancer, toward the development of anti-cancer agents. The Edward and Thelma Wohlgemuth Faculty Scholar fund was established by a gift from Dorothy Wohlgemuth Lynch in 2000 to honor her parents.
