Christian Ray organizes Royal Society conference on computation by natural systems

Saturday, December 23, 2017

Along with co-organizers Dominique Chu (University of Kent, UK) and Mikhail Prokopenko (The University of Sydney, Australia), Christian Ray was selected to organize a prestigious Royal Society (UK) Theo Murphy meeting, Computation by Natural Systems.

Ray and co-organizers say that "over recent years it has become clear in various sciences that many natural systems perform computations. Research into the properties of these natural computers remains fragmented along disciplinary boundaries between computer science, physics, engineering and biology. The objective of this meeting is to overcome the fragmentation by bringing together researchers from different fields to discuss their latest findings on natural computation."

The conference will take place March 21-22, 2018 at the Kavli Royal Society Centre, Buckinghamshire, UK. Registration instructions for the conference can be found on the Royal Society's conference website.

Among the distinguished speakers is the Center for Computational Biology's own Eric Deeds.
