High-Resolution Modeling and Design of Membrane Proteins

Reliable structure prediction methods for membrane proteins are important because the experimental determination of high-resolution membrane protein structures remains very difficult, especially for eukaryotic proteins. The laboratory develops the method RosettaMembrane for the high-resolution modeling and design of membrane proteins and recent developments and achievements of the method will be presented. How membrane protein structures can be accurately modeled from distant homologs will be discussed. Applications combining modeling and design techniques to reprogram the conformational regulation of membrane receptor signaling and the associations between membrane proteins will also be described.
